Cool celebrity couples: ‘It’ pairings you need to know about
They’re young, talented and ridiculously cool. Single or otherwise, there is something deliciously addictive about stalking and celebrating the relationships of others. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we’ve collated our favourite fresh pairings. The best part? They all feature at least one Aussie member.
Rockstar romance: Nicole Trunfio & Gary Clark Jr.
He’s a Grammy-winning Texan guitarist, she’s a West Australian supermodel and their good looks and bohemian style guarantee that this pair turn heads wherever they go. Trunfio met Clark through a mutual friend in 2011 and the pair live together in New York. “We were both very resistant at first, we never thought it would last but it has worked out for the best,” Trunfio told The Daily Telegraph last year. Trunfio was by his side when her talented beau won his first Grammy this year.
Aussie royalty: Lara Bingle & Sam Worthington
They confirmed their relationship via Instagram and this loved-up couple have been inseparable ever since. After a string of failed romances including a cancelled engagement with cricketer Michael Clarke, Bingle has found romance with the Australian action star. The Australian model is not shy about her new relationship, happily sharing intimate snaps on Instagram. The couple made their red carpet debut at last week’s AACTA Awards in Sydney.
Geek chic: Mia Wasikowska & Jesse Eisenberg
The new Lex Luthor is smitten with his Aussie actress love, snapped engaging in very public displays of affection on and off the red carpet. 24 year-old Wasikowska met Eisenberg, 30, on the set of The Double, in which they both star. Eisenberg and Wasikowska are both known for their alternative acting styles and love for indie films.
The fashionistas: Dan Single & Bambi Northwood-Blyth
The Ksubi designer and his model love are newly married and currently enjoying a Honeymoon in Asia. Both are regularly spotted on the pages of Vogue and Russh and are known for their fabulous eyebrows – Bambi’s are wonderfully bushy, while Dan’s are perpetually bleached blonde. Their wedding was a much-photographed whimsical affair in Byron Bay. The Australian couple also have a pretty great clothing collection between them.
The film buffs: Teresa Palmer & Mark Webber
A pregnant Palmer married director and actor Webber in Mexico in December, just over a year after meeting on Twitter. The pair teamed up to make a film together, The Fun in Forever, and split their time between Los Angeles and Adelaide – Palmer’s hometown.
The cool kids: Bobby Cannavale & Rose Byrne
When Cannavale accepted his Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor for Boardwalk Empire, he thanked his Aussie girlfriend, calling her the “love of my life”. The American Blue Jasmine actor was married for nine years before meeting Byrne last year. They’re both successful actors who have won the respect of their industry and demonstrate a flair for comedy.
The pin-ups: Chris Hemsworth & Elsa Pataky
A rugged action star and a Spanish sex symbol make for a pretty good match-up. Hemsworth and Pataky are already parents to India, 1, and have twins on the way. Their kids will be talented, attractive and multilingual. We’re jealous.
