2.55pm (7.55pm in LA): Matthew McConaughey wins Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for Dallas Buyers Club.
Thanks his wife, Camila Alves, for “Kicking my butt out the door and saying ‘GO GET IT, my king!'”
2.48pm (7.48pm in LA): CATE WINS!
Go, Aussie, go! The ever-graceful Cate Blanchett won Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine.
“I went to Magic Castle with my kids this morning and I thought THAT was weird,” said Blanchett of her win. She then wondered aloud whether people at home could hear the music cutting her off, “Or do they just think we are having a panic attack?”
2.37pm (7.37pm in LA): American Hustle wins Best Motion Picture (Comedy/Musical).
2.27pm (7.27pm in LA): Leonardo DiCaprio wins Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical for Wolf of Wall Street.

Thanked Sandra Bullock for not quitting after “I said ‘Sandra I’m going to give you herpes,’ when I really meant ‘Sandra I’m going to give you an earpiece.'”
2.12pm (7.12pm in LA): Diane Keaton honours Woody Allen, then breaks out into song.
1.57pm (6.57pm in LA): Host Amy Poehler wins Best Actress in a Television Comedy for Parks and Recreation.
Cameras cut to her getting a massage from Bono, then kissing him, before running to the stage and saying “I never win anything like this!”
1.48pm (6.48pm in LA): Michael Douglas wins Best Actor Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for TV for “Behind the Candelabra”.
He thanked Catherine Zeta-Jones. Hmmm.
1.30pm (6.30pm in LA): Emma Thompson wins best presenter of the night.
The English actress emerged with shoes in one hand and a cocktail in the other, cutting off the crowd cheers with a firm “Stop it.” She then proceeded to tell everyone that the red on the soles of her Christian Louboutin shoes represented her blood. “Where’s the envelope?” she asked before throwing her shoes to the floor but keeping her cocktail. What a woman.

1.16pm (6.16pm in LA): Meet Mr Golden Globe, Tina Fey’s “adult son from a previous relationship”, Randy aka Amy Poehler. Poehler came on in a Justin Bieber wig and played bratty teenager to Fey’s strict mother. “Jacqueline Bisset is backstage bothering me,” Poehler complained, after asking Miss Golden Globe, Sosie Bacon, “Your name’s Sosie…what are you, the Olympics?” – a Sochi Winter Olympics reference.
Who’s Randy’s father? I say Zac Efron. #EWGlobes pic.twitter.com/cgu74EBJn2 — Annie Barrett (@EWAnnieBarrett) January 13, 2014

An emotional Adams complains that “I always cry when I’m not supposed to and when a director asks me to cry I can’t. It sucks.” She told the audience that this was her fifteenth anniversary of moving to LA thinking “maybe I’ll get a commercial or something,” and thanked her manager for believing in her. Finally, she thanked her daughter, Aviana, as the music began to play her off: “She’s not old enough to understand this…I love you so much.”
12.56pm (5.56pm in LA): U2 win Best Original Song for “Ordinary Love” from Mandela
…And admit that Chris Martin helped them a lot with putting the song together. Martin is clearly not a competitive person – his band Coldplay was also nominated in that category for their song “Atlas” in The Hunger Games.
12.44pm (5.44pm in LA): Breaking Bad wins for Best Drama Series. Aaron Paul’s acceptance speech? “Yeah B*tch.”
May have overtaken Jacqueline Bisset for best speech of the night.

12.15pm (5.15pm in Los Angeles): Jennifer Lawrence wins Best Supporting Actress for American Hustle.
In her speech, she thanks David O’Russell for shaping her career, panics and says “I’m so terrified. It’s obviously a good thing. I’m shaking so much. Don’t ever do this again.”
