Dumbledore, Gandalf will marry this weekend
Two of the fantasy world’s most famous figures, Professor Albus Dumbledore and Gandalf the White, are getting married in the USA.
The union has been inspired by Harry Potter author J.K Rowling’s continual Twitter row with the anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church, who criticised the author for suggesting to a fan that the pair could be wed in Ireland after the successful gay marriage vote.

The wedding on Sunday will be put on by ‘The Equality House’ in Kansas, a building painted in gay pride colours and owned by non-profit organisation Planning Peace.
The Equality House building sits directly across the road from a Westboro Baptist Church compound. Two actors will be hired to play the fantasy characters at the ceremony.
The church said they would picket a wedding between Ganldalf and Dumbledore if it went ahead.
Rowling’s initial tweet to a fan said the characters should take advantage of Ireland’s gay marriage friendly developments:

That suggestion prompted a response from Westboro which Rowling quickly quipped at:
.@WBCsigns Alas, the sheer awesomeness of such a union in such a place would blow your tiny bigoted minds out of your thick sloping skulls.

In 2007 Rowling revealed Dumbledore was gay while at a speaking event at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
