Gallery ends series of MoMA exhibits
The Art Gallery of Western Australia has cancelled its series of exhibitions from the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The gallery was supposed to host six exhibitions, in partnership with the MoMA, over three years, but it says it is cancelling the series due to commercial reasons.
It has announced the current exhibition ‘Van Gogh, Dalí and Beyond: The World Re-imagined’ will be the last of its kind.
The gallery says the series is no longer commercially viable because of higher insurance prices and lower ticket sales.
More than 230,000 people have visited the MoMA exhibitions since the series was launched last year.
