With the same group of dysfunctional British intelligence agents, the long-awaited return of the BAFTA award winning espionage, Slow Horses, is back for a fourth season on September 4.
Based on the fourth novel in the Mick Herron spy series Slough House, the motley M15 reject crew return to their rundown office, reuniting with their brilliant but irascible chain-smoking leader, the notorious Jackson Lamb (Academy Award winner Gary Oldman, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Darkest Hour).
Just like in the previous series (which you can stream), they navigate the espionage world’s smoke and mirrors to defend England from sinister forces.
For those who want to binge watch the entire series, only two episodes will land on Apple TV+ initially, followed by one new episode weekly, every Wednesday through to October 2.
It’s not a spoiler alert, rather a teaser, as season four opens with a bombing that “detonates personal secrets, rocking Slough House’s already unstable foundations”.
The returning ensemble cast also includes Academy Award nominee Kristin Scott Thomas and Jack Lowden while Australian actor Hugo Weaving will join the cast.
“I get a kick out of Apple TV’s spy thriller the same way Lamb gets a kick out of making everyone around him squirm. It’s delightful,” writes Forbes’ TV critic Erik Kain.
“It’s such a breath of fresh air!”
