This week, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Damien Guerot would be granted permanent residency.

Guerot came face-to-face with the man who killed six people at Bondi Junction last weekend, using a bollard to try and fend him off.

Politician gets punched

Georgian politician Mamuka Mdinaradze was punched in the face in parliament this week.

Mdinaradze was slugged by the leader of the Opposition, Aleko Elisashvili, while giving a speech.

Airport flooded

Floods have plagued Dubai for the past week, thanks to rainfall that surpassed “anything documented since the start of data collection in 1949”.

Just a girl

At Coachella, iconic rock band No Doubt reunited on stage for the first time since 2015.

Joining the band headed by Gwen Stefani at the festival was the Gen Z sensation Olivia Rodrigo, and before the set, the two made a sweet TikTok.

Lana makes an entrance

Headlining Coachella this year was Lana Del Rey who sent people into a frenzy before even taking the stage.

The singer made quite an entrance by riding on the back of a motorcycle, while her fans screamed behind the barricades.

Elon Musk poses

Elon Musk gave his best super villain pose while on the red carpet for the Breakthrough Prize ceremony.

The awards celebrate achievements in science and Kim Kardashian, Alicia Keys and Robert Downey Jr were also in attendance.

Actor helps lost child

Actor Mariska Hargitay halted the production of Law & Order: SVU to help a small child who had become separated from her mother.

The girl mistook Hargitay for a police officer, and she eventually helped reunite the lost little girl with her mother.

Tormund the celebrity pumpkin

An Australian man paddled down the Tumut River in NSW while snug inside a 400kg pumpkin.

Adam Farquharson said he was inspired by Popeye the sailor. The ABC reported the vegetable was grown by his friend, Mark Peacock who named the pumpkin Tormund.

An otter has found an unusual way to entertain itself: Holding onto clothing and spinning around.

The otter did appear to be having a lot of fun and wasn’t showing signs of dizziness.
