Healthy tuna sandwich recipe
“I find that the tuna works wonderfully well with tangy rye bread but you could also use a flat bread, such as mountain bread or pitta bread,” says Gaté.
Tahini is a paste made of ground sesame seeds that is used to make hummus. It has a great nutty flavour and is high in calcium.
INGREDIENTS
2 slices rye bread
2 teaspoons tahini
3 tablespoons carrot, grated
2-3 slices tomato
2 tablespoons canned tuna in oil, drained
2 radicchio leaves
METHOD
Spread each piece of bread with a little tahini. Top 1 piece of bread with the grated carrot, then the tomato slices, tuna and radicchio leaves. Place the second slice of bread on top, cut in half and serve.
