When Ross and Kathy Abraham lost their son Jaaden after a tragic e-bike accident, their lives changed forever.

During the four days he spent in intensive care, friends brought the family blankets, toiletries and other essentials to help them survive the long days and nights beside his hospital bed. That simple act of kindness inspired something much bigger.

The Gold Coast couple founded Beautiful Crazy, a charity providing care bags filled with everyday essentials for families unexpectedly thrust into intensive care. Today, their bags are being delivered to major trauma hospitals around Australia, offering practical support during some of life’s most difficult moments.

To raise money for the growing charity, Ross even cycled more than 4000 kilometres across Australia, meeting grieving families and strangers along the way who shared stories of loss, resilience and hope.

He’s already planning an even bigger fundraising ride in 2027, towing a hospital bed across the country to raise awareness.

For the Abrahams, every care bag honours Jaaden’s memory. While no family’s pain can be taken away, their hope is that it will perhaps be made just a little more bearable, thanks to the legacy their son continues to leave behind.
