What’s trending: Unlikely cleaner, toddler upstages romantic scene

This week, an unlikely cleaner who was tidying up a man’s shed was exposed, while a very sweet proposal was almost ruined.

A baby capybara showed off its best moves, while a dog insisted her owner put her to bed.

Here are some trending stories from this week you may have missed.

Welsh Tidy Mouse

Rodney Holbrook, a retired postman and wildlife photographer, kept noticing his shed was tidy every morning.

Things he had left out the night before on his work bench had been put into a little box.

Confused, he decided to install a night vision camera to solve the mystery and to his surprise, it was a mouse who was cleaning up.

The camera caught the mouse picking up various items like pegs, nuts and bolts and Holbrook has nicknamed the mouse Welsh Tidy Mouse, according to the BBC.

Naturally, he doesn’t bother cleaning up his work bench anymore as he knows his little friend will do it for him.

Dancing capybara

A baby capybara has only been at a zoo in Miami since Christmas Eve, but she has already proven to be a very good dancer.

The three-month-old capybara, who has since been called Eve, was seen showcasing her dance moves in a now-viral video.

In the short video, it looked as though Eve was doing the Thriller dance and the zoo is excited to keep sharing her journey online.

‘Ruined’ proposal

A couple’s proposal was made extra memorable by their young daughter who was eager to take centre stage.

This young couple was at the beach with their daughter, when he planned on popping the question.

The little girl was in her mother’s arms at first, but she was put down as he gets down on one knee.

Seemingly not interested in what her parents were doing, the girl made a bee-line for the camera and blocked her parents from the shot.

We do get to see the moment her parents embrace as the girl is playing with the camera and luckily her parents were seen laughing about her curiosity at the end of the video.

Golden retriever retires for the night

A golden retriever who is a stickler for her routine guilt-tripped her owner.

In the video which went viral around Christmas, a dog called Callie was seen looking longingly at her “mum” as she edged closer to the stairs.

It was after 8pm, so past the dog’s bed time, and she was eager to get under the covers.

The dog then makes its way up the stairs, every few steps, looking at her owner as if to say “come on, it’s bedtime”.

Eventually, the dog takes herself to bed. Callie and her sister Chloe are pretty good at keeping a tight sleep schedule, their owner Kelly Taylor told Newsweek.

The video was taken when they were away visiting family over Christmas and they were staying at a home with plenty of land for them to run around on.
