Alibaba’s sub-brand special promotion platform, Juhuasuan, has started a promotion to connect men with sperm banks looking for supplies.

Anyone who donates sperm under the deal receives 5,000 yuan or $1092 AUD.

The ad attracted over 22,000 replies in just 48 hours, according to The Newshub.

Interested participants are required to provide their name, email address and the last six digits of an ID card number in order to sign up.

Once an application is approved the candidate must visit a sperm donation centre and deposit their sample.

Around 12.5 per cent of all men in China are infertile, a 3 per cent rise from the level in 1990.

Recently 11 sperm banks were opened across China to combat the problem, however a lot of men were turned away because their sperm was unsuitable.

China’s problem with air pollution is regularly blamed for its infertility problem.

The London Evening Standard reported that an Alibaba survey showed high intelligence and good features were the most desired characteristics for donors.

Alibaba is known as the “Chinese eBay” and it claims online sperm donation is lucrative because it bypasses the need for awkward face-to-face sperm conversation.
