While previous incarnations have had monikers like Macbook Air or Pro, this latest model keeps it simple and is Apple’s thinnest ever computer.
Weighing in at just over one kilogram, the Macbook has just one multipurpose USB port (which can charge and connect) and a full-sized keyboard that is 40 per cent thinner than prior models.
Another plus comes in the form of its battery life, with the 13-inch model lasting up to 12 hours without charge.
The computer comes in gold, space grey and silver.
The Macbook will start shipping in Australia on April 10.
The entry-level model, with 8GB of memory and 256GB of flash storage, costs $1799. The larger model is $2199.
