Agent Sam Hosking, of eastern suburbs real estate agency Richardson and Wrench (Double Bay), says the apartment’s owners, a professional couple with a housing company background, have “reconfigured” its layout to make the most of the harbour/bridge/city views.
“They have opened it up to take advantage of the views,” Mr Hosking says.
The result is an apartment with a contemporary open-plan kitchen/family/meals zone, “three generous bedrooms” and a strong indoor-outdoor orientation. “It has a very contemporary, up-to-the minute fit-out,” the agent says.
“The luxurious kitchen is designed for the home chef and entertainer, and the main bedroom ensuite is stunning, offering a full-size bathroom with egg-shell bath.”
Mr Hosking believes the apartment will appeal to professional couples or a young family with one child. “We have even had down-sizers – retirees – looking at it,” he says.
“We have had interest from a number of people looking for a Sydney pad for when they come to town. Some are rural people, and we have had a few people from interstate seeking a secure lock-up and leave apartment. We have even had one or two celebrities looking at it because the building (it is in) offers great security.”
He points out that another major feature of the apartment is its two separate lock-up garage spaces.
Mr Hosking believes the apartment will sell within a short period of time, possibly “two weeks” because “there is a great deal of interest in properties in Sydney’s eastern suburbs which are priced below $3 million”.
“Originally, we had it listed at above $2.3 million, but once we dropped the price slightly the inquiries increased dramatically,” he says.
