Woolworths has recalled some of its most popular home-brand ice-creams across south-eastern Australia, amid fears they are contaminated.

The recall is for four-packs of the retailer’s own-branded Cookies & Cream Classic Ice Cream Sandwiches, which have been sold across Victoria, NSW, Queensland and the ACT.

“The recall is due to presence of foreign matter – metal,” Food Standards Australia New Zealand said on Wednesday.

“Food products containing metal may cause illness or injury if consumed.”

The affected packs are marked with a best before date of November 2, 2024.

Consumers are urged not to eat the ice-creams. Instead they should return them to their nearest Woolworths for a full refund.
