A leaked video of Nine newsreader Amber Sherlock berating her colleague Julie Snook for wearing white has gone viral, with Sherlock’s angry requests for Snook to put on a jacket earning both laughs and condemnation.
Nine is believed to have found the person responsible for leaking the off-air footage to Mumbrella – which shows Sherlock lashing Snook for her similar outfit colour choice just before they went live to air – and is expected to sack the leaker.
The terse exchange occurred prior to a live broadcast, with Sherlock requesting Snook find a jacket before they went to air.
Sherlock and Snook were joined for the segment about US President-elect Donald Trump by psychologist Sandy Rea, who also wore white.
“I need Julie to put a jacket on because we’re all in white. I asked her before we came on — Julie, you need to put a jacket on … Come on, I told you two hours ago,” Ms Sherlock said.
To which Ms Snook responded: “Amber, if it’s an issue I can get on out of here (the studio),” she said.
Ms Sherlock then demanded: “It is an issue. Go and grab a jacket.”
Ms Snook eventually did get a jacket.

“It made one of their star presenters look nuts and petty,” an unnamed insider told News Limited.
“One of the reasons this clip worked so well — all of a sudden they’re all smiles and best buddies as if nothing had happened.”
Sherlock has admitted she “overreacted”, and reportedly has been asked by her Nine Network boss to explain her on-camera outburst at colleague.
In a statement to 9Honey, Ms Sherlock blamed the stress of live tv news for the outburst.
“Live TV can be a pretty stressful beast, at times,” Amber said in a statement to 9Honey. “And as anyone knows, it’s never much fun rocking up to work or to a party in the same outfit as one of your colleagues or friends. I probably overreacted with the pressure of presenting a live news bulletin.”
Ms Snook also downplayed the situation.
“What can I say? Amber and I just really love white!” said Julie. “Amber and I are good friends and I really enjoy working with her, News is a fast moving environment and sometimes these things happen.”
The clip has also provided great ammunition for the world of social media.
Amber Sherlock was trending on Facebook and Twitter, and numerous posts included the hashtag #PutYourBlazersOnForJulie.
Australian model Sophie Monk, on holiday in Canada, posted a video parody on Instagram of her and best friend Oscar Gordon mocking the meltdown.
