Adele poised to leave music for motherhood

She is at the peak of her musical powers, butĀ reports haveĀ emerged that Adele, whose hit song Hello dominated the charts in 2015, could be about to hang up the microphone.
British newspapers reported over the Easter weekend that the 27-year-old songstress told friends she will put her music career on hold for the next five years to focus on bringing up her son, Angelo, who is three years old.
āShe has told her closest pals she will step away from the limelight for five years before she next brings out an album,ā a source close to the star said, according to The Sun.

āSheās still very new to motherhood and doesnāt want to miss out on Angelo growing up. It will be a hard thing for fans to hear.ā
The report said the break would beginĀ at the end of her current world tour, which has lifted her career to new heights.Ā Adeleās last album, 25, went straight to number one in more than 25 countries and became the best-selling album of 2015.
According to Forbes,Ā the singing sensationās third album sold more than 15 million copies across all markets, with eight million sales in the United States alone.
It would be the second time the singer has stepped away from the stage to focus on being a mum. After the release of her second album, 21, which was the biggest-selling album globally in 2011 and 2012, she took a break to focus on her newborn. She returned to write the material for 25.
Adele may not be raking in as much as, say, Taylor Swift, but she isnāt doing too badly; with an estimated network of about $75 million, the British singer can certainly afford to take a little bit of time off.
While herĀ vocal abilities continue to leave fans in awe, Adele has also become increasingly outspoken ā even political āĀ in recent times.
When British chef Jamie Oliver, 40, revealed his intention to launch a campaign to get more women breastfeeding, Adele used her gig at Londonās O2 Arena to vent on the subject.
āDo you know what? The pressure on us is f***ing ridiculous and all those people who put pressure on us can go f*** yourselves. Right.ā
The songstress previously admitted she struggled to breastfeed her son for more than nine weeks, saying that āsome of us canāt do itā.
āSome of my mates got post-natal depression from the way those midwives were talking. Idiots,āĀ The Sun reported.
She also used her time on stage to reprimandĀ the terrorists of last weekās attacks in Belgium, which killed at least 31 people and injured more thanĀ 270.
āLetās make enough noise so they can hear us from here, right? Weāre all here for the same reason,ā she said during the show, which was captured by a fan.
āIām hoping youāve all come to be entertained by me. Iām here to entertain you, so weāre all united, so that makes us much better than them f***ers. Youāre on your own, you f***ers.ā
ButĀ Adele isnāt always so generous with her music, especially when it acts as a soundtrack for controversial political campaigns.
When she found out that Donald Trump had been using parts of Rollinā In The Deep to promote his political campaign, the billionaire Republican was swiftly asked to stop.
A statement from Adeleās representative said the singer had not given permission for her music to be used āfor any political campaigningā, heavily implying the artists did not want to associate herself with theĀ polarising businessman.
