Netflix has reached (almost) the entire world
Netflix Inc has claimed its video streaming is now available in 190 of the world’s 196 countries.
“Today you are witnessing the birth of a new global Internet TV network,” CEO Reed Hastings told the Consumer Electronics Show on Thursday (AEDT).
Russia, India and Saudi Arabia were among the new launch sites announced during a press conference at the show in Las Vegas.

China, North Korea, Syria and Crimea are some of the only holdouts to the US-based subscription service, which as of Thursday claimed to have signed up approximately 70 million households.
Netflix’s CEO said China was the next goal, but he admitted this might not happen this year.
The now-global company was co-founded by Mr Hastings and Marc Randolph in California in 1997.
It began accepting Australian customers in 2015, where its main rivals are Stan, Presto and Quickflix.
