People are posing like frozen chooks on Instagram
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any weirder than #Sproutcore, the depths of the internet have produced yet another bizarre trend.
We apparently have New Zealand to thank for this one – a bunch of Kiwi mates decided to try and outdo each other for who could resemble a frozen chicken the most.
• #Sproutcore is an actual trend in China
• Kardashian’s ridiculous car makeover
• Emma Stone licks people, loses the plot in new video
Classic New Zealand.
An Instagram account was started to collate all the best chook attempts:
Then, non-New Zealanders climbed on the bandwagon, including animal rights’ organisation PETA, although their interpretation was slightly more sombre than the Kiwis’ take:
The ‘Frozenchook’ Facebook page has 2,920 likes, proving once again that the world has gone mad.
Carry on.
A tribute to Turnbull’s ties
No matter your political persuasion or your thoughts on Australia’s new prime minister, there’s no doubt something major has changed since the Lib Spill.
Gone are Tony Abbott’s plain blue ties, replaced by a veritable rainbow flowing off the neck of Malcolm Turnbull.
The man takes colour risks – no shade is too bright, no hue too daring.
A pattern? Bring it on.
Any one of those ties would leave Mr Abbott feeling very overwhelmed.
The most romantic chewing gum ad ever
There are many things people associate with chewing gum. Fresh breath, for one. Annoying chewing noises, for another.
But romance? Not so much.
Extra is trying to change that with their latest American commercial that tells the story of a couple’s relationship over time.
Perhaps it’s the extremely likeable actors, the heartwarming version of ‘I can’t help falling in love with you’ – whatever it is, this ad is making people around the world all bleary-eyed and emotional.

Don Draper has to be behind this, there can be no other explanation.
