The Bachelor spoiler leaves regional fans fuming
The Bachelor fans can be an emotional lot, especially if their favourite bachelorette is evicted.
But a slip-up by Southern Cross TV on Wednesday night, which revealed which bachelorette was gone before the ever-important rose ceremony finished, had fans of the show particularly riled up.
• Behind the scenes secrets: on the set of The Bachelor
• We forced five reluctant men to watch The Bachelor
The TV channel – a Network Ten affiliate – showed a promotional ad for the show’s final episodes, revealing that bachelorette Sarah Mackay was not in the final episode.
The promo ran before the end of Wednesday night’s program, where bachelorettes Sarah, Lana and Snezana were still in the running for Bachelor Sam Wood’s heart.
The second-last rose ceremony saw Lana Jeavons-Fellows and Snezana Markoski receive a rose, while Mackay was sent packing – something regional fans knew before the rest of Australia after the spoiler ad.
The on-screen tension was nothing compared to that of Twitter, with upset viewers venting their frustrations.
Tweeter Jaqueline Maree sent her all caps tweet to the show’s host Osher Gunsberg: “CAN YOU TELL THE PEOPLE THERE TO GET THEIR DAMN ADS RIGHT!!!!????”
Wow! Channel 10 just ran an ad for #bachelorau finale before tonight’s ep finished. Too soon! @channelten

There were also people threatening to watch other reality shows on other channels and regional journalists tweeting about the stuff up.
Network Ten and Southern Cross TV are yet to comment on the promo spoiler.
