Disney fails to put mega-hit ‘Frozen’ on ice

Millions of young girls’ dreams, and parents’ worst nightmares, have come true with the news that a sequel to 2013 smash-hit Frozen is in the works.

The announcement was made on Disney’s Twitter account on Friday morning and has been retweeted over one thousand times.

The movie won two Oscars for best animated feature and best original song, Let It Go, and has made over $US1.3 billion at the box office.

Actress Kristen Bell, who voices character Anna, also announced on Twitter she would be returning for the sequel, posing with a bag of ice.

The film is about two sisters who are princesses, one of whom has a magical power to turn things into ice.

Unlike traditional Disney films, Frozen focuses on the values of family and the female empowerment of the main characters.
