Daniel Johns caught drink driving

Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns has pleaded guilty to a drink driving charge after being caught 2.5 times over the legal limit in Newcastle.

The singer, 35, appeared in the Newcastle Local Court today after being breath tested by police just after 8pm on October 28.

Johns, who had a blood alcohol reading of 0.126, told police who pulled over his black Jaguar that he had drunk four large glasses of white wine in 3.5 hours, according to NBN News.

Looking looked slim and drawn outside court in a black suit, Johns told NBN News that he regretted the incident and was glad no one had been hurt by his actions.

The judge ordered he undertake a traffic offenders’ program and adjourned the case until February 26, 2015.
