Kristen Stewart to be the new face of Chanel
Following in the footsteps of other ingenues like Blake Lively, Diane Kruger and Keira Knightley, Twilight actress Kristen Stewart has been announced as the next face of Chanel.
Stewart will appear in the campaign for the French luxury label’s Métiers d’Art collection, which will debut in May 2014. Karl Lagerfeld, the iconic head designer and creative director for the fashion house, has reportedly photographed the collection himself.

This is not the first fashionable foray for the 23 year-old, who has also been the face of Balenciaga’s fragrance Florabotanica. She has been laying low following a rough 18 months – scandal erupted when she was photographed kissing her much older, married director Rupert Sanders. At the time, Stewart was still dating co-star and longtime boyfriend, Robert Pattinson.
The notoriously sullen-faced star made her Chanel debut last night at the Métiers d’Art show in Dallas, along with fellow young starlets Dakota Fanning, Zoe Kravitz and Lily Collins. Lagerfeld also used the event to launch his directorial debut, a short film titled The Return.

The Wild West backdrop of the runway, along with the choice of Dallas as the location and Kristen Stewart as the face, seems to suggest that Chanel will be embracing a bit of Americana in their coming collections.
